Session 0 & the 7 Complexity Levels

ALL NEW CAMPAIGNS REQUIRE A SESSION ZERO. One-shots do not, but will need 10 minutes to establish lines and veils.

What is a Session 0?

A session 0 is a pre-game conversation between the Games Master (GM) and Player Squad (PS). This is where the GM can provide more detail about the table rules and game setting, while the PS can make any content requests and set expectations they would like. This can be immediately before the first session, but can be spaced out for scheduling purposes.

If you are returning to a campaign after a hiatus a Session 0 can help remember the story-so-far and the path forward.

7 Complexity Levels

When aiming to base the following games on a 1-5 scale of complexity, some games were stuck in-between the comparison values. So, we use 7!

  1. Easy Peasy: more talking than rolling
  2. Easy: but more rolling than before
  3. Medium: rolling and talking have equal parts to play
  4. Tough: talking requires tactics and rolling is affected
  5. Challenging: math and resource management increase
  6. Difficult: roles are nuanced, or math is everywhere
  7. Intense: there is a steep learning curve before play

Games charge by the hour. Larger parties cost less per person.

Don't know what to play? Overwhelmed with the options?

Whether you want to decide on the game system, or having  a tough time designing the character you want to play, feel free to reach out for a free consultation!
